Alabama Immersion Trip

Introduction:
The project was to make a travel poster for one of the immersion trips on the Brophy list. We chose to work on the Alabama Civil Rights march, frankly because it seemed easiest, but it was more of a challenge than we thought. We put our best foot forward, and we came up with the poster below.

Inspiration:
For inspiration we looked at a lot of the behance posts, but none would come close to making what we wanted to do on our poster. Most of them were information posters, so we pulled ideas from a couple of people.

Sketches:
At first, we came up with words that reminded us of the Civil Rights movement, but we found out about how it had to do with the immersion trip, so we were a little behind.
Process:
We only made three comps, but only found two. At first we had a poster with just the bridge, and a block of orange on top saying" Alabama Immersion Trip", but we thought it looked to simple and the color scheme didn't fit. Second we added a crowd, a photo taken by Alex Radelich, and we removed the block of orange on top, which made it look a lot better. We knew we were missing something, and we decided to add a filter to it, which made it look a bit more cartoony, which we thought was the final touch.
Final Poster:
Our final poster, in our opinion, was the best product. We knew that the added filter made it look a little more spoofy. We could have edited it a bit more, but we know that with our current abilities with the photoshop program, we made the best product. The color of the whole poster made it look a bit brighter, and the bridge directed the view to the text.
